School 2.0/Tech Assessment

School 2.0 is an online community of educators promoting the use of technology in the classroom. This meets NETS-5.

The result I took a closer look at was NETS-T Module: Design and Develop Digital-Age Learning Experiences and Assessment. In the article "Too Cool for School? No Way" I learn ways to improve learning experiences and assessments with technology. In the article the author discussed the use of twitter. His idea was to use twitter for classroom discussions. I find this as an important tool because students will be able to answer a weekly question as homework that will spark critical thinking of a topic. In addition this tool will lessen the use of paper, which will make it easier for an educator to grade and is better for the environment :) Another useful technological tool the article refers to was search engines. Search engines are important because they help students "intertextuality." This is important because the web is expanding, and becoming helpful by connecting students to meaningful information. Students need to understand the importance of configuring useful words in search engines to find appropriate information.
